Crystal introduces new external Georgian bar

Crystal Direct has introduced a new, high quality external Georgian bar (also known as an astragal bar) to its window range. Unlike many other suppliers, Crystal end mills the Georgian bar and supplies the window fully glazed rather than with ‘snap-on’ end caps for installers to fix onsite. The result is a neater and more professional finish to the window and less chance of discolouration over time due to weathering of different materials. It also means installers don’t have to worry about losing an end cap onsite or find the bar doesn’t fit properly.

Chairman Martin Randall explains: “The decision to make the astragal ‘Georgian’ bar in-house is so that our customers continue to benefit from products that are easy to install and will help them win sales. With Crystal, customers can buy windows with external Georgian bars that have been end milled and fully glazed in our factory so they don’t need to worry about fiddling with end-caps onsite. And it also looks better, because it fits perfectly with none of the unsightly cross pieces and end caps. Our window has a neater, more traditional look that the homeowner will want.”

Crystal launches new aluminium range

Crystal Direct has added a new range of aluminium windows and doors to its portfolio. The new products give customers more choice and the chance to tender for commercial business and pitch for more residential projects. Crystal’s aluminium range is available in the full RAL colours, with many standard colours available from stock.

Chairman Martin Randall comments: “Aluminium is experiencing somewhat of a comeback and we have been noticing more and more requests from customers for quotes on aluminium windows and doors. As the No.1 fabricator in product choice, we constantly monitor trends and look to identify new growth opportunities so that we can offer customers all the products they need to grow.

“It makes perfect sense for us to add aluminium to our range so our customers continue to have the best choice and the best chance of making money in a competitive market”, concludes Martin.

Crystal’s helps jockey to national title

Bridget Andrews, a young jockey sponsored by national trade fabricator Crystal Direct, has won the National Lady Novice Riders Point-to-Point Championship.

The 18 year old won the championship by a good margin having ridden three more winners than her nearest rival. During the Point-to-Point season, Bridget rode 10 winners and was consistently placed in all her races. Her sister made it a family double by winning the Lady Professional Riders Championship.

“I’m absolutely thrilled, and I’d like to thank Crystal for its support,” says Bridget. “My sister was unable to win the novice title before she became a professional jockey. But she has gone on to win the Professional Ladies title and I am hoping to do the same when I turn professional.”

Crystal Chairman Martin Randall comments: “Bridget is very talented and has made an exceptional start to her riding career. We are pleased to support her and I have no doubt she has an excellent career ahead of her.”
