Martin Randall, chairman of leading national fabricator Crystal Direct and a keen polo player, hit the deck in dramatic fashion while playing in a recent tournament.

Martin (wearing blue, on the right of the picture) was unseated in a spectacular incident involving a professional player (wearing green) on the opposing team. As these pictures show, Martin comes off lightly compared to his Argentinean opponent who almost completely disappears as his horse rolls over him. Neither of the horses was hurt and both players escaped without serious injuries… but only because in polo terms a couple of cracked ribs doesn’t count as a “serious injury”!

Martin’s team went on to win the tournament adding to Team Crystal’s impressive win rate of 84% this season.

“Polo can be a rough old game,” said a bruised but smiling Martin. “It’s a bit like the windows industry in fact – maybe that’s why I like it so much!”
